Warehouse Distribution Specialist

We are seeking a Distribution Specialist responsible for warehousing activities including: order pulling; stocking; loading and unloading; and inventory, while adhering to safety, quality and food safety standards set by the food bank. Also provides maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse facilities and equipment as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position and pays $15-$18 per hour depending on experience.
Hours Noon -8pm Sunday through Thursday
Order Pulling
- Ensures order accuracy
- Reads Pick Sheets
- Proper Staging of pallets
- Meets case pick rate standard
- Cubing pallets
- Maintains a 95% pulling accuracy
Loading/Unloading
- Safely uses RRFB equipment and completes equipment logs
- Loads trucks in proper sequence
- Ensures all product is accounted for
- Completes pre-load check of trailers
- Maintains cold chain by ensuring return product is properly unloaded and stored
- Completes necessary paperwork upon load completion
Stocking/Inventory
- Ensures proper movement of cold storage product
- Utilizes barcoding hardware/software
- Reads and understands stock sheets
- Meets all RRFB stocking rate standards
- Completes the monthly bin, item, pallet and physical inventory count
- Reports discrepancies daily
Safety
- Responds to food safety and compliance inquires in a timely and professional manner
- Conducts equipment audits to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
- Assists in the safety and sanitation of facilities and equipment through compliance with food safety guidelines and any applicable local, state, or federal laws
- Drives forklifts and operates other pallet moving equipment safely
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- One Year experience working in a warehouse environment; successful RRFB warehouse interns and temp workers will be considered
- Must possess communication and writing skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Able to complete Forklift safety training within 30 days of hire
- Independent decision-making skills
- G.E.D or High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift experience
- Stand-up rider experience
- Order pulling/pallet building experience
Employment Requirements
- Negative Drug Screen
- Successful Background Clearance
- Evening and weekend shifts are required
- Must maintain a 40 hour per week work schedule
Physical Environment
- Able to work in cold environment with proper protective equipment (-11 degrees)
- Typically Warehouse or Cold Storage areas
- Ability to move throughout the building
- Lifting or moving up to 100 pounds for purposes of fulfilling orders
- Long periods of standing and moving
- Work will be both in and outdoors but can be subject to extreme temperatures in either environment
- Moderate exposure to loud noise levels
- Able to pull a pallet jack with a load up to 1000 lbs.
