Title: Supply Chain Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt                            

Manager: Sr. Director of Food Safety & Product Readiness

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 annually


 Job Description  

Purpose

The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the Sr. Director of Food Safety and Product Readiness. The Supply Chain Manager will manage the Allocation/Partner Support team.  In addition, this position will manage the purchasing program, the allocations program, and the distribution plans. They will ensure that the correct products are being allocated to the correct locations, will assist in purchasing decisions, and will create a distribution plan for all purchased food. This position manages the purchased supply chain for Roadrunner Food Bank and its partner agencies and network through sourcing, logistics, and administrative paperwork and financial reconciliation of purchased food loads. While adhering to all aspects of the Feeding America Partner Food Bank Agreement, this position will source food loads for purchase locally, regionally, and nationally.

  • Works with the stakeholders to evaluate inventory and create box build recipes 
  • Manages the Allocation/Partner Support Team and ensures that the correct product is being allocated to the correct agencies based on the type of food program they are in 
  • Manages the Purchasing Program and develops and maintains a comprehensive long-range plan for obtaining purchased food products to support RRFB programs 
  • Manages food purchasing budget complying with all reporting requirements and ensuring solid fiscal stewardship 
  • Manages, maintains, and communicates a distribution plan for the inventory 
  • Manages communication with the Warehouse Team on what inventory is available to sub with on orders due to quality issues or other concerns 
  • Maintains positive internal working relationships and acts as a positive strategic partner to individuals, community partners, and business associates 
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with sourcing partners 
  • Generate reports to measure key program activities and provide data and metrics to facilitate the evaluation of food sourcing activities of the food bank 
  • Stays current on local, regional and national industry trends and attends relevant conferences, trade shows, and events 
  • Develops annual work plans which include budget projections, performance metrics, strategies, and goals 
  • Regularly participates in RRFB organization wide strategy meetings and activities 
  • Monitors and forecasts inventory procurement needs for various RRFB programs 
  • Helps to facilitate all aspects of purchase order processing and delivery, including creation of POs and item numbers in Ceres; communications with vendors, freight carriers, and RRFB Product Intake, Transportation, and Warehouse staff 
  • Monitors and verifies accuracy of purchased inventory related data in Ceres, including cost and quantities received, and ensures that postings are allocated to the appropriate accounts, divisions, and projects 
  • Performs invoice and bill of lading reconciliation to facilitate payment of purchased loads 
  • Ensures all food purchasing grant deadlines are met and tracks all food purchasing grants

Competencies 

  • Excellent computer (including experience with Microsoft Office applications and internet communication).  
  • Manager Level Food Safety Training will be provided.  
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, keep documents and files organized, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under a deadline; show initiative and flexibility  
  • Experience performing tests, track data, and report on results 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships. 
  • Ability to lead meetings and report results of data collection 
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people ranging from coworkers to outside stakeholders. 
  • Independent decision-making skills 
  • Ability to learn new software programs and work within structure.

 Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps to make any necessary adjustments to timecards, as well as approves time off requests 
  • Handles executing their team members reviews

  • Company vehicle will be provided 
  • Valid state driver’s license 
  • Overnights are not required 

 

Required Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience 

  • Minimum 2 years related experience working in or with supply chains 
  • Minimum 2 years serving in a managerial or leadership position 

 

Preferred Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience 

  • Prior food handling experience and/or safety training (e.g. FIFO) 
  • Experience using Microsoft Jet Reports 
  • Prior experience working in a food bank 

  

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements 

Legally authorized to work within the United States of America.
