We are seeking a Distribution Manager responsible for hiring, coaching, and mentoring warehouse specialists, volunteers and interns; enforcing staff policies and procedures; maintaining the security and safety of employees; maintaining an efficient and effective team, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring the accuracy of agency orders being distributed. This is a full-time, exempt position and the core work hours are noon to 8pm, Sunday through Thursday.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Inventory & Order Fulfillment
Employee Management
Technology & Process Improvement
Ensure safety of the team and proper and safe use of equipment
Leading shift and at times being the sole Manager on Duty in the warehouse
Staff Supervision
This position manages the Distribution Lead, Warehouse Specialists, and assigned volunteers.
Qualifications
- Associates degree, or equivalent work experience in a retail or warehouse environment
- Prior use of inventory database software / hardware in a retail or warehouse environment
- Three years related experience as a manager in a warehouse, retail, wholesale, or food service setting
- Three years related experience in a role requiring decision making related to hiring, scheduling, and accountability for work performed
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years related experience as a manager in a warehouse, retail, wholesale, or food service setting
- Five years related experience in a role requiring decision making related to hiring, scheduling, and accountability for work performed
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- One year Food Bank managerial experience
- Class A CDL
Employment Requirements
- Negative Drug Screen
- Successful Background Clearance
- Proof of completing ServSafe Food Safety or equivalent training from an ANSI accredited institution OR complete Roadrunner Food Bank Food Safety Training within 90 days of hire
- Complete Forklift Training Class once hired
Physical Environment
Primary work is in a warehouse environment
Employee can be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures
Frequent lifting of up to 150 lbs is required
Required to pull more than 1000 lbs with a pallet jack
Required to handle individual pieces of produce and use senses to determine the quality of product
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
