Title: Accounts Receivable Supervisor

FLSA Status: Exempt                            

Manager: Interim Controller       

Compensation: $54,500-$64,480/annually

Job Description 

This position is instrumental in ensuring the efficient and compliant administration of Roadrunner Food Bank’s Accounts Receivable functions. Working under the direction of the Sr. Accounting Manager, the A/R (Accounts Receivable) Supervisor will work closely with other staff to ensure timely creation of agency invoices, collections, and reconciliations related to A/R. The ideal candidate will have an analytical outlook, an inquisitive mind, and a desire to support a worthy mission in the State of New Mexico. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Ensures that billing and receivables are processed accurately and on time  
  • Support monthly close process 
  • Supports and oversees AR Specialist with daily deposits 
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable data to identify trends and issues. 
  • Addresses aged payments with vendors 
  • Refers overdue accounts to collections 
  • Conducts training for staff related to Accounts Receivable 
  • Serve as backup to Accounts Payable functions  
  • Works with Supply Chain Manager to ensure all food invoices have correct and complete documentation prior to payment 
  • Lead Buyer for the organization 
  • Modify, compile, and write Accounts Receivable policies 
  • Assists Finance staff with annual single audit 
  • Recommends policy and process changes that can improve compliance and efficiency   
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Travel Requirement 

This is an on-site position and does not require travel. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or higher, preferred  
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience will serve to fulfill the educational requirement 
  • 5-7 years’ work experience in an Accounts Receivable position with the appropriate degree 
  • Understanding of appropriate posting dates, timing, and accuracy of GL entries 
  • Ability to quickly learn food bank accounting software 
  • Interest in hunger relief, food access, community building, and local and regional food systems work a plus. 
  • Highly organized with superior attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills. 
  • Ability to think strategically and to resolve problems. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional and programmatic teams and amongst diverse people and groups. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Enthusiastic attitude and ability to work as part of a team 
  • Results and impact driven, with the ability to manage time effectively by prioritizing tasks and managing competing priorities 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office environment and standard office equipment. 

 

Physical Environment  

Primarily Office environment  

Indoor and outdoor distributions 

Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures through trips to the warehouse or assignment located outside the building. 

Extensive computer operation with repeated finger motions. 

Filing and minimal lifting (~15-25 pounds).
